KC lives in Queensland and has Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.

I have lived with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) for several years, and during this time I have experienced the ongoing challenges of broken sleep, daytime fatigue, and the broader impacts these disturbances can have on health, wellbeing and daily functioning. My journey has required persistence, self-advocacy and a genuine commitment to understanding my condition, seeking professional guidance, and educating myself about the most effective treatment options.

Through trial, follow-up and continued learning, I have invested in the right products and strategies to support better sleep and have gained a deep appreciation of how powerful evidence-based information and appropriate support can be. This experience has made me passionate about helping others navigate their own sleep health challenges, particularly those who may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood or unsure where to turn.

I am motivated to contribute to LEAP because I believe lived experience is essential in shaping research, advocacy, and community education. I would welcome the opportunity to bring a consumer perspective to SHF initiatives, ensuring that the needs and realities of people with sleep disorders are represented clearly and respectfully. I hope to support the Foundation’s mission to promote better sleep for all Australians and to help strengthen the voices of those living with sleep-related conditions.
