Lived Experience Member

Yasmin lives in Western Australia and experiences insomnia, along with neurodiversity and ME/CFS.

I live in Western Australia and have managed insomnia for more than 20 years, since I was a teenager. My sleep difficulties are complicated by neurodiversity and ME/CFS, meaning that standard sleep advice often needs to be thoughtfully adapted to my individual needs and circumstances.

I have also worked in the sleep field for more than a decade, including as asleep technologist, researcher and Clinical Psychologist working with people experiencing sleep disorders such as insomnia. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my role as a Lived Experience Member. I am passionate about whole-person, evidence-based approaches to sleep care, and about recognising that sleep interventions are not only about improving sleep, but can also support broader health, functioning and wellbeing.
