Event Info

Join Dr Moira Junge (Sleep Health Foundation), Associate Professor Amy Reynolds (Flinders University), and Daniel Allen (TradeMutt & TIACS) for an insightful conversation during Sleep Health Week on why sleep is a critical – but often overlooked – pillar of workplace health and wellbeing.

This webinar will explore how sleep impacts safety, productivity, and mental health across different industries, from corporate settings to the trades. Hear both expert insights and lived experience as the panel unpacks common sleep challenges facing Australian workers, the links between sleep and mental health, and the real-world consequences of fatigue on the job.

You’ll also gain practical, evidence-based strategies to support better sleep at both an individual and organisational level, along with actionable ideas for reducing stigma, improving workplace culture, and building a safer, more resilient workforce.

Daniel Allen

TradeMutt & TIACS Co-Founder

Daniel Allen is the co-founder of TradeMutt and TIACS, two purpose-driven organisations working to improve mental health outcomes for Australia’s blue-collar community. A carpenter by trade, Dan co-founded TradeMutt to start everyday conversations around mental health through bold, conversation-starting workwear. From there, he co-founded TIACS, a professional counselling service providing accessible support to tradies, truckies, farmers and blue-collar workers all for free.

A/Prof Amy Reynolds

Clinical Epidemiologist & Psychologist, Flinders University

Associate Professor Amy Reynolds is a clinical epidemiologist and psychologist based at FHMRI Sleep Health (Flinders University) with 15 years of expertise in sleep research. She is the current program lead for the Shift Work Clinic, a tailored, multidisciplinary sleep assessment and management service designed for Australian shift workers. Her work is funded through an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award, exploring the relationship between shift work, sleep disorders and safety in the Australian workforce.

Dr Moira Junge (facilitator)

Chief Health Officer, Sleep Health Foundation, Health Psychologist

Moira was the inaugural CEO of the Sleep Health Foundation and remains the Chief Health Officer. She is a registered Health Psychologist and holds a Doctorate in Health Psychology. Health Psychology focuses on health behaviour change at an individual and population level so it was a natural transition for Moira to work across the clinical setting as well as the public health and health promotion setting. Moira has over twenty-five years’ experience in the healthcare sector and has worked in the sleep disorders field since 1994. She was a founding member of the Behavioural Management of Sleep Disorders Committee within the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) and was the Chair of the ASA Insomnia and Sleep Health Council (2008-2015). Moira joined the Health Advisory Board at Healthylife as one of its six members in 2022. She is passionate about promoting the importance of good sleep health, providing the community with access to evidence-based solutions for sleeping difficulties, and about translating research into practical applications in our community. These are the main reasons she has pursued promoting sleep health and that drive her everyday work.
