Explore your sleep. Transform your days.
Monday 3 August - Friday 7 August 2026

Sleep Health Week is a national awareness campaign led by the Sleep Health Foundation, dedicated to helping Australians understand the importance of sleep and how it affects every part of daily life.

About Sleep Health Week

Sleep Health Week was created to shine a spotlight on sleep as a core pillar of health – alongside diet and exercise.

Each year, the week brings together individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and communities to increase awareness of sleep health, share practical strategies, and encourage people to seek support when needed.

With a growing national reach and strong community engagement, Sleep Health Week continues to build momentum as a key public health initiative.

Explore your sleep. Transform your days.

This year’s theme encourages Australians to take a closer look at their own sleep – what’s working, what’s not, and how small changes can make a meaningful difference.

Better sleep isn’t just about nights – it shapes how we feel, think, connect, and perform during the day. By understanding your sleep, you can take simple steps toward improving your overall wellbeing.

The theme was developed in collaboration with the Sleep Health Foundation’s Lived Experience Advisory Partners (LEAP). It evolved from discussions about how members’ sleep disorders impact their daily lives, including how they perform at work or school, their capacity to connect socially, and their emotional and mental wellbeing.

At the core of all of the Sleep Health Foundation’s work is the need to capture the voice of people with lived experience of sleep disorders. Our Lived Experience Advisory Partners represent a diverse collection of sleep experiences, largely comprising of formally diagnosed sleep disorders. It is our intention that Sleep Health Week is guided in equal parts by industry experts, and those who experience sleep disorders and chronic sleep disturbance.
