The Sleep Health Foundation is thrilled to share that our Wake & Move program has been selected as one of nine national winners of the 2026 Active Australia Innovation Challenge (AAIC), funded by the Federal Government and delivered by the Heart Foundation.

For people living with chronic sleep disorders, fatigue is often the biggest barrier to getting active. Wake & Move: A targeted activity program for people with sleep disorders addresses this with a tailored 12‑week program that combines gentle movement sessions with practical workshops on pacing, habit-building, and confidence. By designing around low energy levels and disrupted routines, the program offers a supportive pathway back into regular activity and aims to improve both physical activity levels and sleep outcomes.

This AAIC recognition highlights the powerful two-way relationship between movement and wellbeing, and supports our vision to show that even small, achievable increases in activity can make a significant difference for people with sleep disorders.

Wake & Move is being delivered in Victoria and will be piloted with participants living with chronic sleep conditions. If you’re interested in learning more or hearing about future rollouts, subscribe to the Sleep Health Foundation's newsletter for updates.
