As I step into the role of Executive Director, I am energised by the vibrant path ahead for the Sleep Health Foundation. Sleep is not a luxury; it is a foundational pillar of health just as vital as nutrition and exercise to our everyday performance and wellbeing. Moving forward, my passion is to expand our reach and make evidence-backed sleep information truly conversational, relatable, and accessible. By scaling assets like our workplace Speaker Program and aligning with corporate partners who share our commitment to improving sleep health, we are building a self-sustaining future that translates science into real-world strategies, helping Australians easily find and access the care they need.
Achieving this next level of growth relies on protecting what makes the Foundation so unique: our clinical independence and our deep community roots. We are incredibly proud to have two exceptional pillars of expertise guiding our work: our Lived Experience Advisory Partners (LEAP), which keeps the authentic patient voice at the centre of everything we do, and our Industry Research & Collaborations Committee (IRCC). The IRCC beautifully bridges the gap between research and business, delivering the industry-focused advice, education, and consulting partnerships that drive innovation. Backed by our evolving board, our corporate allies, and our dedicated network of volunteers, we look forward to making 2026 a milestone year for sleep health advocacy across the nation.
Best wishes,

Louisa Smith,
Executive Director
