As we begin 2026, I’m delighted to share a sense of optimism and renewed purpose for the year ahead at the Sleep Health Foundation.

We’re thrilled to welcome several new faces to our community. Dr Jenny Haycock has joined us as our new Lived Experience Integration and Research Manager, bringing deep expertise and passion for co-designed approaches to improving sleep health outcomes. We also warmly welcome Dr Andrew Tucker as the newest member of our Board, adding valuable experience and insight to our governance and strategic direction. In addition, we’re excited to have several new Lived Experience Advisory Partners (LEAP) members on board – thank you for sharing your lived experience and perspectives to strengthen and shape our work.

Our collaboration with the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) continues to be a cornerstone of our advocacy efforts. Together, we have developed the 2026–2027 pre-budget submission, Debunking the myths about sleep: Helping Australians to ‘check, choose, snooze’ for better sleep health. This important work calls for stronger national action to elevate sleep as a fundamental pillar of health and wellbeing.

2026 is full of opportunity. With a growing team, strengthened partnerships, and an ever-expanding community of professionals and lived experience voices, the Foundation is well placed to make real progress in Australia’s understanding, attitudes, and policies around sleep health. Together, we can help more Australians to sleep well and live better.

Warm regards,
Moira.
